JCG Workgroup Management Officer - ADF Workforce role at Defence Australia
Base pay range: A$95,187.00/yr - A$108,734.00/yr
The RoleJoint Capabilities Group (JCG) Headquarters is seeking a proactive, analytical and strategic individual to join our Workgroup Team. This role will work with the Deputy Director Workgroup to develop, manage and maintain the regular Australian Defence Force (ADF) workforce and ADF Reserve workforce across JCG.
Key responsibilities for this position include the coordination and submission of the annual JCG ADF Reserve bids, managing the JCG ADF Reserve budget and management of ADF (Regular and Reserve) positions across JCG.
The role involves solving complex workforce challenges, analysing workforce data and workforce planning to meet the capability requirements for the Group. It requires sound workforce knowledge and data analytics to understand the impact of short and long-term workforce implications and implementing operational workforce management activities that align with strategic initiatives in emerging capabilities in Space, Cyber, and Logistics. The role works closely with JCG\'s Functional Commands. This leadership role has ADF Reservist reporting to the position.
About our Team
Headquarters Joint Capability Group (JCG) provides high level support to the three star Group Head, the Chief of Joint Capabilities (CJC), by directing and coordinating Group operations across a range of functions. Headquarters JCG works closely with the Functional Commands within JCG and with other Groups and Services within Defence to contribute to JCG and Defence-wide outcomes. The JCG Workgroup Management Officer - ADF Workforce will work as an integral part of the Workgroup team and a conduit to other key stakeholders responsible for the management and administration of ADF and Reserve management.
The JCG HQ Workgroup team is a small but mighty integrated team consisting of APS and ADF Reserve members. Our team works in a high tempo and hybrid environment to accommodate the workload with flexible working arrangements. We work together to support and uplift workforce management in JCG by supporting each other and taking pride in the work we deliver.
Our Ideal CandidateWe are seeking an individual with demonstrated experience in military workforce management and planning.
You will be responsible for coordinating the ADF capability within JCG, working closely with teams across the Group to ensure that a strategic view of the workforce is aligned with the wider goals and objectives of the organisation.
The successful candidate will be recognised for their ability to build and deliver results that align with JCG and Defence objectives.
Strong analytical, organisational, and time management skills are essential in this role.
Our ideal candidate has:
- Previous experience in workforce/ HR management including ASL and AFS management.
- Proactive and able to complete high quality work with minimal supervision and occasionally, condensed time frames.
- Collegiate and team oriented attitude, seeking to better team goals.
- Strong stakeholder management and liaison skills.
- Ability to be agile and pivot with changing directions.
- Experience in project management, data management, reporting, Power BI and/or Excel DAX/ Power query although not required, is highly desired.
