Alongside our EV expos, we also deliver SmallBiz Week—one of Australia's most dynamic business events, connecting SMEs with the tools, strategies, and services they need to grow. SmallBiz Week is co-located with our Light Commercial Motorshow, a dedicated event for trade and fleet vehicles. Together, these events form part of one of the most ambitious and exciting business and automotive calendars in the country.

We're growing fast—and we're looking for a Marketing & Communications Strategist to help steer the way forward.

About the Role

The Marketing & Communications Strategist will be responsible for the development, execution, and ongoing optimisation of marketing and communications activity across all Future Drive AutoShows events. This role combines campaign leadership, creative thinking, and client-facing responsibilities to ensure our events are unmissable on the national calendar.

You'll drive strategy across multiple channels—digital and above-the-line—manage workflows and support a small in-house team. You'll also collaborate closely with major exhibiting brands to co-create promotional content and amplify their presence at our events.

This is a high-impact, hands-on role perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, loves to experiment with new ideas, and brings a proactive, solutions-driven mindset.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Marketing Oversight : Lead the planning, execution, and reporting of integrated marketing campaigns to support ticket sales, exhibitor bookings, brand awareness, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Continuously generate and test new ideas to maximise the impact of our marketing and communications strategies across content, partnerships, channels, and creative.
  • Oversee and support a small internal team working across web content, email marketing, social media, and graphic design. Manage workflow, project timelines, and priorities.
    • Client & Stakeholder Management : Act as a key marketing point of contact for global exhibiting brands. Coordinate delivery of marketing assets, co-branded content, and collaborative promotion plans. Ensure all deliverables are on-brand, on-message, and on-time.
      • Digital Marketing & Above-the-Line Advertising : Own and optimise performance across all digital channels including paid and organic social media, Google Ads, SEO / SEM, and eDMs.
      • Manage ad placements and creative delivery across traditional media channels, including print, radio, and relevant online publications.
        • Content & Brand Oversight : Ensure consistency of voice, tone, and design across all channels and campaigns—keeping the Future Drive brand sharp, clear, and engaging.
          • Partnerships & PR : Build and maintain relationships with media outlets, sponsors, influencers, and collaborators to drive awareness and third-party promotion.
          • Work closely with our Media & PR Manager to coordinate press releases, identify media angles, and capitalise on PR opportunities in the lead-up to and during each event.
            • Analytics & Reporting : Monitor campaign performance, interpret data, and apply learnings to improve marketing effectiveness and ROI across all events.
            Skills & Experience
            • 4+ years of experience in a marketing, communications, or events-related role
            • Demonstrated success in running integrated, multi-channel campaigns
            • Strong working knowledge of paid media (Google Ads, Meta Ads) and performance tracking
            • Confident in CRM and CMS platforms (Zoho, Mailchimp, WordPress or similar)
            • Excellent copywriting and content production skills
            • Experience managing multiple stakeholders and client-facing workflows
            • Highly organised with strong project and time management skills
            • Proactive, creative thinker with a passion for problem-solving and continuous improvement
            • Experience in events, expos, or large-scale consumer shows is a plus, but not essential
