**Technical Training and Development Coordinator Role Overview**
The purpose of this role is to support the development and delivery of integrated and engaging training initiatives aimed at our Aircraft Engineering team. This position plays a key role in fostering continuous learning and technical skill development to contribute to the overall success and growth of McDermott Aviation.

McDermott Aviation is a global Heli-Aviation company, with operations spanning across Australia, Europe, and the USA. We proudly own the world's largest fleet of the powerful Bell 214B, a single-engine, twin-bladed helicopter. Our services include Aerial Fire Fighting, Emergency Assistance, Charter, and Helicopter Lifting, supporting critical operations across the globe.
The Role
As the Technical Training and Development Coordinator, you will partner with our Engineering team to deliver impactful, engaging training initiatives to enhance both individual and organisational capabilities. By working closely with managers, subject matter experts, and external suppliers, you will identify key learning needs and develop tailored learning solutions.
Responsibilities
- Training Design and Delivery: Design and develop tailored materials and programs using a variety of platforms and tools to achieve the best learning outcomes. Deliver effective and engaging learning programs across the Engineering team.
- Needs Assessment and Gap Analysis: Perform comprehensive needs assessments to identify skills or knowledge gaps and address them through targeted training initiatives.
- Curriculum Development and Research: Conduct ongoing research into curriculum development, staying current with industry trends, competitors' approaches, and best practices in training.
- Feedback and Support Sessions: Organise and facilitate regular feedback and support sessions for trainees and apprentices, ensuring continuous development and improvement.
- Apprenticeship and Traineeship Program Coordination: Oversee the apprenticeship and traineeship training program for Engineering.
- Train-the-Trainer Sessions: Coordinate and organise train-the-trainer sessions to empower internal experts to deliver training effectively.
About You
- Qualifications: Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or relevant tertiary qualifications.
- Experience: Demonstrated experience in a similar role, ideally with exposure to the Aviation industry. Experience in Aircraft Engineering Maintenance and developing, delivering, and coordinating training sessions.
- Skills: Positive approach to change. Self-motivated and proactive. Excellent communication skills – written and verbal.
