Pembroke School is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Middle School Science Teacher to join our dynamic Science faculty for Semester 2, 2025. This is a 0.4 FTE temporary position, with the potential for additional TRT (relief teaching) opportunities throughout the semester to increase overall teaching hours. There is also the potential for an extension into 2026, with the possibility of increased FTE.

Pembroke School is a co-educational, non-denominational, day and boarding School from Early Learning Centre to Year 12. Renowned for academic excellence and a broad, inclusive program, Pembroke offers the South Australian Certificate of Education (SACE) and is also an International Baccalaureate World School, offering the IB Diploma Programme (IBDP) and Primary Years Programme (PYP).

About The Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and rigorous Science lessons in the Middle School (Years 7–10), working collaboratively within a supportive and experienced faculty.

Key Responsibilities Include
  • Planning and delivering curriculum-aligned lessons that engage students and foster scientific thinking
  • Creating a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports student learning and wellbeing
  • Assessing and reporting on student progress in line with school policies
  • Contributing to faculty planning, assessment design, and resource sharing
  • Participating in pastoral care and co-curricular activities as appropriate

About You

Our ideal candidate will have:
  • A passion for teaching Science in a Middle Years context
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Innovative and reflective teaching practice
  • Willingness to engage with the broader life of the School, including participation in co-curricular activities as part of the annual teaching commitment

  • Current Working with Children Check (South Australia)
  • Current Plink RRHAN-EC training:
    • Masterclass and Fundamentals (including Protective Practices)
  • First Aid and CPR
