Overview

We are seeking a Science Teacher (Psychology and Biology) to join Pembroke School. This full-time, fixed-term role for 2026 offers the opportunity to inspire and engage students in Psychology and Biology across both the SACE and IB programmes.

Pembroke School is a co-educational, non-denominational, day and boarding School from Early Learning Centre to Year 12. Renowned for academic excellence and a broad, inclusive program, Pembroke offers the South Australian Certificate of Education (SACE) and is also an International Baccalaureate World School, offering the IB Diploma Programme (IBDP) and Primary Years Programme (PYP).

About the Role

You are a passionate and dedicated educator who thrives on inspiring curiosity and achievement in senior secondary students. With expertise in Psychology and experience in Biology, you bring both subject knowledge and a commitment to engaging, student-centred learning. You value collaboration, embrace innovation, and are committed to supporting the holistic growth of young people.

Responsibilities
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging Psychology and Biology lessons aligned with SACE and IB requirements.
  • Provide academic guidance, feedback, and pastoral support to senior secondary students.
  • Integrate innovative teaching strategies and digital tools to enhance student learning.
  • Contribute to curriculum development and collaborative planning within the Science faculty.
  • Support co-curricular, enrichment, and extension opportunities in Science across the Senior School.
About You

You are a passionate and dedicated educator who thrives on inspiring curiosity and achievement in senior secondary students. With expertise in Psychology and experience in Biology, you bring both subject knowledge and a commitment to engaging, student-centred learning. You will bring
  • Proven experience teaching Psychology, with the ability to deliver senior Biology.
  • Knowledge of SACE and/or IB curriculum frameworks and assessment practices.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships.
  • A collaborative approach, contributing to faculty initiatives and whole-school culture.
  • A reflective and growth-oriented mindset, open to innovation and continual professional learning.
Required for Employment
  • Current Working with Children Check (South Australia)
  • Current Plink RRHAN-EC training
  • Masterclass and Fundamentals (including Protective Practices)
  • First Aid and CPR
