Senior Systems Engineer - ITOM

Kinetic IT seeks a seasoned Senior Systems Engineer to lead the implementation and optimization of our monitoring platform, LogicMonitor. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for driving a consolidated monitoring strategy across multiple customer environments.

About The Role

This is a high-profile position that involves working closely with the Automation & Orchestration Technical Lead to maximize the potential of LogicMonitor through integrations with other service management tools and automation frameworks.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Platform Ownership & Strategy:
    • You will serve as the technical owner for LogicMonitor, ensuring proper configuration, maintenance, and evolution of the platform.
    • Drive platform adoption and standardize monitoring practices across the organization.
    • Develop and optimize monitoring templates, dashboards, alerting rules, escalation policies, and integrations to ensure seamless monitoring.
  2. Integrated Service Enablement:
    • Collaborate with the Automation & Orchestration Lead to develop integrated solutions involving LogicMonitor, ITSM tools like ServiceNow, and automation platforms such as Rundeck, Ansible, and Azure Runbooks.
    • Maintain monitoring solutions aligned with SLAs and improve proactive incident management by leveraging advanced analytics and AI-driven insights.
    • Support use-case development for automated remediation and event-driven orchestration to minimize manual efforts and improve overall efficiency.
  3. Operational Support & Continuous Improvement:
    • Provide Level 3 support and expertise for LogicMonitor, including troubleshooting complex issues related to monitoring coverage, platform performance, and data accuracy.
    • Implement continuous improvement initiatives and analytics reporting to demonstrate value and ROI.
  4. Governance & Standards:
    • Define and enforce standards for monitoring configuration, naming conventions, documentation, and change control to ensure consistency and compliance.
    • Ensure compliance with security, governance, and operational standards to maintain a secure and efficient environment.
    • Stay informed of LogicMonitor developments and influence platform direction accordingly.
  5. Stakeholder Engagement & Enablement:
    • Act as a trusted advisor to service teams and customers, providing expert guidance on monitoring best practices and emerging trends.
    • Conduct enablement sessions, create documentation, and mentor team members to ensure knowledge transfer and skills enhancement.
    • Interface with LogicMonitor support teams and escalate issues as needed to ensure prompt resolution.
Key Skills & Experience
  • Deep understanding of IT Operations Management (ITOM) principles and how observability supports ITSM, automation, and proactive management.
  • Experience with integrations into ITSM tools (e.g., ServiceNow) and automation platforms (e.g., Rundeck, Ansible, Azure Runbooks).
  • Knowledge of SNMP, WMI, APIs, log ingestion, and cloud monitoring (Azure, AWS, hybrid) to ensure comprehensive monitoring capabilities.
  • Ability to define standards, drive adoption, and support large-scale platform implementations to meet business objectives.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Hands-on experience with LogicMonitor is preferred; training can be provided if necessary.
