Senior Systems Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Senior Systems Engineer with significant managed services experience and exceptional client service skills to join our team of highly qualified engineers. The successful candidate will work closely with our customers and colleagues to meet requirements and provide support throughout the organization.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Technical Lead: Serve as the primary escalation point for the team, providing guidance and expertise to resolve complex technical issues.
  2. Mentorship and Coaching: Provide mentorship, coaching, and knowledge-sharing across all levels, ensuring the growth and development of our team members.
  3. Project Delivery: Manage and oversee project delivery, including scoping, solution design, and implementation, to ensure timely and quality results.
  4. Security and Compliance: Maintain compliance with security policies and best practices, ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of our clients' data.
  5. Ticket and Project Management: Ensure ticket and project management aligns with Service Level Agreements (SLAs), updating statuses daily to maintain transparency and accountability.
  6. Preventative Maintenance: Take ownership of preventative maintenance and system performance improvements, ensuring the optimal functioning of our systems.
  7. Service Delivery Manager Support: Work closely with the Service Delivery Manager, assisting in their absence to ensure seamless continuity of operations.
  8. Documentation and Change Management: Maintain detailed technical documentation and oversee change management, ensuring that all changes are properly assessed, approved, and implemented.
  9. Billing and Time Tracking: Record a minimum of 6 billable hours per day and ensure accurate timesheet submissions, maintaining transparent and efficient financial reporting.
Requirements:
  1. Networking Expertise: Strong networking expertise, including routing, switching, firewalls, and VPNs.
  2. Cloud Experience: Hands-on experience with cloud-based solutions (Azure, AWS, M365, hybrid environments).
  3. Senior Technical Role: Proven experience in a senior technical role within an Managed Service Provider (MSP).
  4. Leadership Skills: Strong leadership skills with a passion for coaching and mentoring, driving team success and growth.
  5. Troubleshooting Abilities: Advanced troubleshooting abilities and a thirst for continual learning, staying up-to-date with industry trends and best practices.
  6. Solution Design and Architecture: Experience with solution design, architecture, and project management, ensuring effective and efficient delivery of projects.
  7. Communication Skills: Strong communication skills, ensuring clear client expectations and documentation, facilitating smooth collaboration and resolution of issues.
  8. Workload Management: Ability to manage workload efficiently, balancing technical tasks and strategic oversight, prioritizing tasks effectively to meet deadlines.
