Job Description

Data Collection and Cleaning: Gather data from various sources, ensuring its accuracy, completeness, and reliability. Clean and preprocess data to prepare it for analysis.

Data Analysis: Utilize statistical methods, data mining techniques, and analysis to extract meaningful insights from datasets. Identify trends, patterns, and correlations to inform business strategies.

Reporting and Visualisation: Develop dashboards, reports, and visualizations to communicate findings effectively to stakeholders. Present insights in a clear and understandable manner to support decision-making processes.

Systems Administration: Perform systems administration tasks such as security management where requested.

Systems Implementation and Maintenance: Assist with the implementation and maintenance of Foodbank Australia systems where requested.

Continuous Learning and Development: Stay updated with the latest developments in data analytics, tools, and methodologies. Continuously improve analytical techniques and processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

The Successful Applicant

Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in a data or accounting related field. Has a demonstrated desire to be involved in data work. A high degree of numeracy.

Analytical Skills: Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities. The ability to work independently to navigate to the best outcome from imperfect real-world data. An ability to distil complex tasks into simple and efficient processes.

Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with the Microsoft suite of products, particularly Excel and Power BI.

Data Management: Familiarity with databases and data warehousing concepts. Experience with data cleaning and transformation.

Communication Skills: Excellent communication and presentation skills. Ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.

Team Collaboration: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively in cross-functional teams.

Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to data accuracy and integrity.

Problem-Solving Orientation: Proactive and resourceful in addressing challenges and finding innovative solutions.
