Job Title: Assistant Accountant

The Opportunity

We invite you to apply for the role of Assistant Accountant within our high-performing finance team at Sharp & Carter.

This position offers a unique opportunity to expand your financial reporting and compliance expertise across group, joint venture, and subsidiary entities. You will gain hands-on experience with financial analysis, statutory reporting, audit processes, and ERP systems in a collaborative environment.

This is an ideal role for finance and accounting graduates with experience in either commercial or public practice firms seeking variety, ownership, and career development in a dynamic industry.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure compliance with financial reporting standards and internal policies.
  • Maintain awareness of accounting regulations and audit tools.
  • Support income tax, GST, payroll tax, CGT, PTR, and LSL compliance.
  • Assist with monthly management and board reporting for group and JV entities.
  • Manage intercompany billing, AR invoices, and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Prepare consolidated financial statements and support annual audits.
  • Assist with day-to-day treasury activities.
  • Support internal control and risk management processes.
Skills & Experience
  • Degree-qualified in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
  • CA/CPA qualification (or working towards) preferred.
  • Proven experience in general ledger, reconciliations, and financial analysis.
  • Familiarity with tax compliance and statutory obligations.
  • Confident in preparing audit workpapers and handling auditor queries.
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical mindset, and proactive problem-solving.
  • Ability to manage competing deadlines and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
