About the Role

We help our members make the most of their money. As an Assistant Accountant, you'll support the Financial Accountant and Senior Financial Accountant in preparing financial accounting data, reports, and reconciliations.

You'll be responsible for various accounting functions, including:

  • General ledger and bank reconciliations.
  • Raising invoices.
  • Maintaining and operating fixed asset and prepayment registers.

Day-to-day tasks include:

  • Assisting in month and year-end financial accounting and reporting.
  • Preparing accurate and timely reconciliations with supporting documentation.
  • Preparing documentation for internal and external payments.
  • Coordinating day-to-day accounts receivable function.
  • Maintaining and running depreciation of end-of-month fixed assets.
  • Identifying and resolving accounting discrepancies and irregularities.
  • Improving efficiencies within the function.
  • Investigating customer/stakeholder queries.
  • Assisting on organisational projects and providing ad-hoc analysis.
  • Maintaining relevant policies, processes, and procedures.
About You

You'll be a great communicator with top-notch interpersonal skills. We expect you to problem-solve quickly and creatively. You may also possess:

  • Experience in financial accounting support roles.
  • High level numeracy and reconciliation skills.
  • Sound Excel skills.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
