Overview

We're looking for a Senior Data Engineer for a growing SaaS start up in the PropTech space. You will lead the development of a brand new data platform and shape the future of how property insights are delivered across Australia and New Zealand. In this role, you will directly power AI models and enable smarter, data-driven decision making.

This is a chance to own the data strategy of a growing SaaS scale-up, driving innovation in AI and property tech.

Responsibilities
  • Define and deliver a data architecture strategy.
  • Build and scale pipelines on Microsoft Azure & Databricks to handle diverse data sources.
  • Develop infrastructure to support AI models, real-time analytics, and predictive scoring.
  • Partner with product and commercial teams to align data with customer and market needs.
  • Drive best practices in data quality, governance, and observability.
  • Mentor engineers and help set the technical direction for the team.
Qualifications
  • 7+ years in data engineering, ideally some experience as a technical lead.
  • Strong background in ML-ready data modelling and scalable architecture.
  • Excellent communication skills to work across technical and commercial teams.
  • Familiarity with Airflow, Snowflake, Kafka, MLflow, SageMaker.
  • Experience in SaaS or startup environments.
