What You Will Do

As part of the Global Investor and Distribution Solutions (GIDS) APAC Data Platform team, you will contribute to the design, development, and optimisation of our enterprise data platform. You will help shape our data platform strategy to ensure scalability, reliability, and performance across the data ecosystem.

  • Contribute to the architecture and design of scalable, secure, and high-performance data platforms.
  • Design and implement the data platform using modern data stack technologies, including but not limited to:
    • Event-driven and batch data ingestion and pipelines (e.g., Debezium, Kafka, Flink, Spark, Data Lab)
    • Data visualisation & reporting (e.g., SSRS, Pentaho, Data Lens)
    • Data governance (e.g., DataHub)
  • Collaborate with the data architect, principal/lead engineers, analysts, and other engineers to deliver robust data solutions.
  • Lead the implementation of automations using Terraform, CloudFormation, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Ensure data platform reliability, performance, and security.
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers and contribute to a culture of technical excellence.
  • Evaluate and integrate emerging technologies to enhance platform capabilities.
  • Responsible for incident response and root cause analysis for data platform issues.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in computer engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in a data engineering role for senior-level candidates
  • Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Proficiency in modern data platform engineering and end-to-end data platform design and implementation
  • Experience with automation across engineering
  • Familiarity with open-source data stack tools
  • Experience with GitHub, PR processes, CI/CD pipelines, and code/release management
  • Proficiency in cloud (AWS), Kubernetes, Docker
  • Proficiency in streaming technologies and ETL/ELT data pipelines (e.g., Debezium, Kafka, Flink, Spark, NiFi)
  • Proficiency in database technologies and data lake storage (e.g., MSSQL, Postgres, Iceberg)
  • Proficiency in data analytics and reporting tools (e.g., SSRS, Pentaho, Data Lens, Trino)
  • Proficiency in Data Governance tools (e.g., DataHub)
  • Programming knowledge in at least one language (preferably Python and Java)
  • Knowledge of AI/MCP is optional
