Overview

A Senior Solutions Architect in AWS Global Services, working with the Public Sector team (Australian Government, National Security and Defence). This role focuses on shaping and delivering strategy to build mind share and broad use of AWS services within critical strategic accounts, owning ongoing technical relationships with customers in the public sector.

Responsibilities
  • Own the technical engagement and success around specific implementation projects, developing deep expertise in AWS technologies and broad knowledge of how applications and services are constructed on the AWS platform.
  • Lead technical solution discussions, dive into details with customer teams, and craft scalable, flexible, and resilient cloud architectures.
  • Build relationships to understand customers and partners; act as a trusted technical advisor to influence stakeholders from technical teams to executives and align short-term technology decisions with long-term goals.
  • Educate and lead the broader community by sharing best practices, presenting at events, writing white papers/blogs, and running workshops.
  • Shape product and service direction by gathering customer feedback and collaborating with engineering and service teams.
  • Represent Amazon well within customer environments, with the ability to interact with and guide software developers and architects; think strategically about business, product, and technical challenges.
  • Possess or be able to attain Australian Government Security Vetting Agency clearance.
Day in the Life / What you'll do

Help customers plan their cloud journey, solve complex technical challenges, and accelerate adoption of AWS services. Lead discussions, drive technical solutions, and act as a thought leader in the field.

Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
  • 8+ years of experience in technology domains such as software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, or data & analytics
  • 7+ years of infrastructure architecture, database architecture, and networking experience
  • Ability to lead complex technical projects requiring collaboration across multiple teams
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience communicating with both technical and non-technical audiences, including executives
  • Experience architecting or deploying Cloud/Virtualization solutions in enterprise customers
  • Ability to create proofs of concept, demos, or scripts from scratch or using reusable components
  • Experience working with Federal government
  • Ability to present to technical and business audiences (training, workshops, publications)
