Job Description

We're looking for a Coal Technician to join us in a permanent, full-time rolein Paget, QLD.You'll be responsible for preparing and analysing coal samples, helping ensure accurate, high-quality results that meet international standards.

Your key responsibilities in this role will include but are not limited to:

  • Provide and maintain high quality, accurate and timely work.
  • Perform duties of all routine shipping and exploration project sampling, preparation and analysis.
  • Ensureeveryone is aware of the safety environment.
  • Assisting with preventative maintenance and calibration of preparation equipment.
  • Prioritisation of urgent samples and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Operation of analytical, manual analytical and preparation equipment.
  • Compliance with analytical methods, procedures and SGS Quality Systems.
  • Contributing to a safe workplace by conducting risk assessments, addressing hazards, and implementing improvements.
  • Maintain a high standard of general housekeeping.
Qualifications

We are seeking candidates who come from a fast-paced background. The successful candidate will possess the following:

  • Coal sampling, preparation and testing experience preferred, but not essential.
  • Good computer skills,Excel proficiency beneficial and previous experience with data management programs (highly regarded).
  • Previous experience in general mineral laboratory environment preferred, but not essential.
  • Ability to work on rotating shiftsincluding day/night/afternoon and weekends.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and meet tight deadlines
