Your new team – Dilin DuwaIn 2021 the University of Melbourne Faculty of Business and Economics in partnership with the Melbourne Business School Limited launched the Dilin Duwa Centre for Indigenous Business Leadership. The objectives of Dilin Duwa are:
- Research: improve the understanding of "what works" in Indigenous business and business leadership in Australia;
- Programmes: improve the capacity and capability of Indigenous businesses and leaders to meet market demand and improve Indigenous economic independence;
- Programmes: improve the capacity and capability of non-Indigenous organisations to engage with and purchase from Indigenous businesses; and
- Engagement: connect Indigenous people and their businesses to knowledge and networks that underpin success and celebrate the success of the Indigenous business sector.
These objectives are achieved through research and education.
Dilin Duwa has endorsed a new ten-year strategic plan 2025-2034 which includes the scaling out our established research excellence, our education offerings and the development of three interconnected service offerings - academic services, enterprise services, and ecosystem level services.
About the roleAs the Indigenous Sector Outreach Manager at Dilin Duwa Centre, you'll have the opportunity to develop and implement innovative outreach strategies that bridge academia and the Indigenous community. You'll work closely with internal teams and external partners to shape the Centre's public image, influence decision-making, and support its mission in higher education. This role offers you the chance to make a significant impact on Indigenous engagement while honing your skills in marketing, communications, and stakeholder management.
Responsibilities include:
- Develop and Implement Marketing Strategies: Create and execute outreach plans aligned with the Centre's goals, overseeing all aspects of marketing and communications.
- Manage Stakeholder Relations: Serve as the primary liaison between external partners and internal teams, ensuring clear communication and timely delivery of marketing campaigns.
- Oversee Brand Consistency: Collaborate with the First Nations Media Manager to maintain a consistent brand identity across all communications channels.
- Coordinate Alumni Engagement: Manage the MURRA Collective, facilitating alumni communications and documenting key event outcomes.
You may also:
- Have a Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field, with at least four years of relevant experience.
- Possess demonstrated experience in liaising between external partners and internal teams in a marketing or project management role.
- Have strong skills in managing marketing campaigns, including digital marketing initiatives.
- Exhibit excellent communication abilities and attention to detail.
- Demonstrate proficiency in project management, including managing approvals processes and meeting deadlines.
- Show strong analytical skills for understanding customer needs and identifying market opportunities.
