Head of Commercial – Global Pharmaceutical Company

This mid-sized global pharmaceutical company has transformed its Australian operations into a highly customer-centric, agile, and forward-thinking organisation. This is an exciting opportunity to join their senior leadership team as Head of Commercial, leading Marketing and Commercial Excellence to drive continued growth across specialty, primary care, and consumer pharmaceutical markets.

The Role

As Head of Commercial, you will:

• Lead a high-performing team of nine, including four direct reports in marketing and commercial excellence/data insights.
• Report directly to the General Manager, ANZ.
• Oversee national marketing strategy and ensure flawless, dynamic execution aligned to business objectives.
• Champion innovation, omnichannel engagement, and purpose-driven leadership.
• Manage the product pipeline and contribute to strategic new product acquisition decisions.
• Foster cross-functional collaboration with Sales, Supply, Medical, Regulatory, regional counterparts, and third-party manufacturers.
• Embed a culture of customer centricity across the organisation.

The Ideal Candidate

You will bring:

• Significant marketing leadership experience within the prescription pharmaceutical industry.
• Proven ability to inspire and lead teams in dynamic environments.
• Strategic and analytical thinking with a strong innovation mindset.
• Solid financial acumen, including forecasting and demand planning expertise.
• A degree in life sciences or business (postgraduate qualifications highly regarded).
• Experience in commercial excellence/business insights (advantageous).
• Broad marketing exposure across specialty, primary care, and consumer health (ideal).
• A proactive, "can-do" mindset with the agility to execute with purpose and adapt to change.
