About The Role

At BOQ Group, we're looking for a Financial Crime leader to lead our AML Operations Reporting team with confidence, clarity, and a good dose of curiosity. You'll be steering the ship when it comes to monitoring, triaging, detecting, screening, and making sure our regulatory reporting is not just compliant, but timely and accurate.

You'll be the person your team turns to when things get complex, helping them navigate escalations, manage queues, and keep our service levels humming along. You are working closely with a bunch of great people—internally across Financial Crime Operations, Group Tech, Retail and Business Banking, and externally with AUSTRAC.

You'll support your team leaders using our Ways of Working tools, contribute insights to our risk committees, and help shape how we respond to emerging AML/CTF trends. Whether it's preparing key risk indicators or offering your expertise in governance forums, your work will help us stay sharp, compliant, and ahead of the curve.

About You

You – our successful candidate you are someone who knows how to lead a team, with a wealth of knowledge —even when the pressure's on. You've got solid experience in AML, sanctions or CTF environments, and you understand the legislation and reporting requirements like the back of your hand. And if you've got ACAMS or ICA accreditation, even better.

You've probably led teams of 20+ and know how to manage across multiple locations. But beyond the technical stuff, you're someone who brings heart to your leadership, you are detail orientated and have a knack for making smart decisions quickly. You communicate clearly, support your team through challenges, and know how to build strong relationships with stakeholders—from regulators to internal partners.

We want someone to take ownership of your work, back your decisions with sound reasoning, and genuinely care about the culture you're helping to shape. At BOQ Group, we're building something special—and we'd love you to be part of it
