Responsibilities
  • Play a pivotal role in ensuring compliance with CASA regulations across Qantas Airways and Express Freighters Australia operations
  • Manage operational approvals, aircraft additions, and Safety Management System documentation to support safe and compliant operations
  • Manage the Exposition for Qantas Airways and Freight, along with the associated Safety Management System (SMS); monitor regulatory notifications and prepare supporting documentation for significant and non‑significant business changes
  • Coordinate with CASA Regulatory Services to facilitate new aircraft deliveries and ensure operational readiness in line with aviation legislation
  • Lead safety and compliance-related projects within defined timeframes
Qualifications
  • 5–10 years' experience in an operational or compliance role within a high-capacity air transport operator
  • Tertiary qualification – undergraduate degree in aviation, business or law
  • Ability to lead safety and compliance-related projects within defined timeframes
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills; both verbal and written
  • Proven skills in managing a compliance program
  • Experience in facilitating risk assessments
  • Ability to interact in an objective manner with aviation government officials
  • Attention to detail with an ability to adapt to change
  • Technical proficiency to draft position papers and/or summaries of complex regulatory issues
