End User Computing Senior Systems Engineer (Technical Lead)

Are you a seasoned IT professional with a passion for shaping the future of workplace technology? Our client is seeking an experienced End User Computing Senior Systems Engineer (Technical Lead) to play a pivotal role in their organisation's strategic IT transformation. Based in Essendon Fields, this role focuses on leading the transition to Windows 11 across the enterprise, ensuring a secure, seamless, and modern user experience.

As the technical lead, you'll work closely with the End User Computing Program Manager, providing hands-on technical leadership and driving strategic initiatives. Your deep expertise in Microsoft Intune and end-user computing will be instrumental in delivering scalable, secure, and user-focused solutions.

This role is an initial 6 month contract with the view to extend.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the planning, deployment, and management of Windows 11 upgrades across the organisation.
• Design and manage end-user computing environments, with a focus on Microsoft Intune.
• Develop and enforce policies for device management, app deployment, and compliance.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues related to devices, OS, and applications.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align upgrade initiatives with business goals.
• Provide mentorship and technical leadership to IT team members.
• Continuously evaluate emerging technologies and recommend improvements.
• Support operational processes to ensure high system performance and reliability.

What You Bring:

• Degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field – or equivalent experience.
• Extensive experience in a Senior Systems Engineer or similar technical leadership role.
• Deep expertise in Microsoft Intune, including device enrolment and policy management.
• Strong knowledge of Windows OS, especially Windows 11; experience with macOS and MDM is a plus.
• Proven problem-solving abilities and a calm, solution-focused approach under pressure.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Preferred Skills:

• Microsoft certifications such as Modern Desktop Administrator Associate or Endpoint Administrator.
• Experience with Azure AD and Microsoft 365 services.
• Scripting knowledge (e.g., PowerShell) for automation and upgrade tasks.
