The Company

Paragon Talent Solutions has been engaged to assist a leading organisation who provide electrical and industrial automation solutions to their broad client base. Due to growth, they are now expanding their presence in Australia and have a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Control Systems Engineer. This is a permanent position to be based in Melbourne and the successful candidate will mainly be working in the data centre sector but will also be expected to work in other industries from time to time including manufacturing and F&B.

The Position

As a Senior Control Systems Engineer you will be responsible for:
  • Functional design of control systems across a range of projects and industries
  • Developing new PLC, SCADA and HMI systems as well as maintaining current ones for client sites
  • Ensure that real-time data is available and that control mechanisms are operating effectively and efficiently for use by system operations and network development
  • Responsible for configuration, acceptance testing, commissioning etc in the field
  • Work closely with new and existing clients to understand their requirements and develop solutions to fit their needs
  • Provide technical knowledge to clients and articulate the solutions for them
  • Act as a key point of contact for project queries
This is an exciting period for our client who are currently very busy and are in high demand from their customers. They are in a big phase of growth now as they expand their presence into Melbourne due to this client demand.

This position would suit a control systems professional experienced with a strong SCADA and PLC background who can multi-task, work closely with clients and act as the main point of call for technical elements. A very competitive salary package of $130K - $150K is available for the successful candidates depending on experience. Until the Melbourne branch builds out further, you can expect to work from home, clients sites or in their unmanned office in Melbourne's Inner West.

Your Experience

To be considered for these positions, you will possess:
  • A degree or diploma in Computer Sciences, Computing, Electronics, Electrical engineering or similar
  • High level competence with SCADA and PLC technologies
  • Solid experience of the complete control systems project lifecycle
  • The ability to troubleshoot and articulate technical solutions to clients
  • Knowledge of Schneider, Siemens, Rockwell, Ignition or similar control systems technologies
  • Strong stakeholder management capabilities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
