D'Orsogna Ltd is seeking an experienced hands-on Despatch/Logistics Manager to manage our warehousing and logistics team.

Located at our head office in Palmyra, Western Australia

This position will report to the Planning/Logistics Manager and will involve supporting the direct manager to meet the following requirements:

  1. Managing logistical and warehouse requirements.
  2. Day-to-day responsibility for all activities in the department, including Occupational Safety & Health, personnel, equipment, materials, quality, productivity, cost management, and hygiene.
  3. Management of transport and storage services, including delivery drivers and the despatch/logistics team, to ensure timely and accurate delivery of orders.
  4. Developing and implementing efficient warehouse systems.
  5. Assisting with management of vehicles and control of freight costs (inward and outward).
  6. Coordinating stock storage and stock rotation across various sites nationally, following First In First Out (FIFO) principles.
  7. Ensuring stock accuracy and monitoring of UBDs in warehouse locations.
  8. Daily allocation and coordination of work among warehouse workers.
  9. Coordinating daily deliveries to meet supply demand KPIs in a cost-effective manner.

In addition, the ideal candidate will possess the following attributes:

  1. Effective communication skills at all levels within the company.
  2. Ability to manage and solve logistics issues professionally.
  3. Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with key stakeholders.
  4. Capability to manage labor and transport costs within budget expectations.
  5. Effective team management and leadership skills to achieve company goals.
  6. Flexibility in working hours and days to meet business needs.
  7. Willingness to assist the team as needed.

Educational and experience requirements

  1. Minimum 5 years of experience in a just-in-time distribution management environment.
  2. OH&S & Quality Assurance training.
  3. Warehousing or logistics certification is highly desirable.
  4. HR and forklift licenses are desirable.
  5. The successful applicant must be a permanent resident with full work rights.
