Summary of Position: Coordinates the workflow and day-to-day activities of the medical office and employees while maintaining a collaborative working environment. Supports daily operations relative to patient care and managing office functions (e.g., coordinating physician schedules, patient rescheduling, referrals, and prior authorization support). Promotes positive employee morale and ensures all office operations are handled effectively, professionally, and expeditiously. Keeps Practice Manager informed of any processes or concerns related to office operations.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Formal Education Required:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Medical Diploma/License/Certification or Associate Degree preferred
- Experience & Training Required:
- Two (2) years of previous medical office experience (e.g., Medical Assistant, Medical Receptionist; Referral Coordinator); Physician office setting preferred
- Previous experience working in EMR and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.) preferred
- Other Skills, Competencies and Qualifications:
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Proficient communication skills to include working collaboratively with patients, families, clinical co-workers, and internal and external departments
- Ability to be highly motivated, work collaboratively, and operate in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful environment
- Ability to process and complete assigned reporting requirements
- Previous experience and understanding of financial acumen
- Knowledge of clinical quality standards
- Exhibits effective leadership skills
- Ability to complete tasks in an organized and timely fashion
- Ability to adapt to daily changes
- Computer proficiency
- Population Specific Competency: Ability to effectively interact with populations of patients/customers with an understanding of their needs for self-respect and dignity
- Physical Demands: Light work; Exerts up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to ten pounds of force frequently
Compensation: $21.33/hr - $25.60/hr. The salary range on this job posting is base salary exclusive of bonuses or differentials. Several factors, such as years of experience and location, are considered when determining starting pay. The listed range represents the full base salary range; hiring at the maximum is not typical.
