The Role:
The role of the Community Recovery & Resilience Officer is to enhance resilience in the community by developing and implementing community development initiatives and programs. Specifically, the planning and implementation of a Community Resilience Network (CRN) and undertaking broad community education and awareness raising to increase levels of disaster prevention and preparedness in the community.
This is a temporary, full-time position to 31 March 2027 and is funded under the Queensland and Australian Government's Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements.
What You'll Do
- Undertake community disaster education and awareness
- Implement and deliver a Community Resilience Network (CRN) to support disaster operations and recovery
- Assist communities to rebuild and recover after a disaster
- Implement community development initiatives and programs to enhance resilience
- Build strong relationships with key agencies involved in community recovery
What we are looking for:
You will be a natural at connecting with others with experience in:
- Community development and capacity building
- Collaborating and negotiating outcomes with a diverse range of stakeholders
- Public speaking, facilitation and training
- Project management and reporting
You will also need to be tech-savvy with the Microsoft Office suite and have experience in disaster management operations.

- LGOA Level 5/1 – $89,573 per annum
