Overview

The School

Kalgoorlie-Boulder Community High School (CHS) was opened in 2006 and offers secondary courses from Year 7 to 10. The school enrolment is over 900 students from diverse backgrounds, with a supportive pastoral care team and a focus on engaging teaching across a breadth of subjects and programs.

The Role

You will ideally be a conscientious, flexible and innovative teacher committed to the development of the whole student. You will be actively involved within the school and wider community, reflective of your teaching practices and committed to evidence-based decision making and differentiation. Applicants should be able to teach secondary Mathematics and be knowledgeable of the Western Australian Curriculum. You will deliver a differentiated curriculum and strive for high-quality teaching and learning. Strong communication, interpersonal and leadership skills are desirable to promote the school's values and priorities. You should build positive relationships with students and be passionate about creating positive futures for students.

Mobility and Eligibility

Mobility appointments for permanent metropolitan and south west teachers: Eligible permanent teachers with substantive positions in the North or South Education Region or South West Education Region may elect to undertake this role as a 3-year mobility appointment, with a right of return. At the end of the mobility, teachers may return to their substantive role or transfer permanently to this school. Find out if you are eligible on IKON.

  • Note: South West teachers are not eligible to move to another South West school under this trial.
Eligibility

To work with us you must:

  • Hold an eligible teacher qualification and registration.
  • Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident, or have a valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of the appointment.
  • Apply for a WA Working with Children Check before you start; and
  • Consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education's Screening Unit before you start.
