OverviewJoin the Australian Energy Regulator (AER) as the Executive Director, Default Market Offer and Consumers, EL2. The role leads the delivery of the Default Market Offer (DMO) and supports energy consumers now and in the future, within a high-performing, inclusive culture.
What You Will Do- Oversee and integrate the teams' diverse skills to deliver the DMO each year, and to advance policy and regulatory initiatives that benefit energy consumers.
- Advise the Board and Senior Executive Team on retail pricing, policy, and regulation.
- Represent the AER and the DMO and Consumers Branch to influence internal and external stakeholders toward set objectives.
- Ensure high-quality documentation, reporting, and communication with the EGM, Senior Leadership Team, CEO and Board on relevant projects and activities.
- Demonstrated experience leading a team in a fast-paced, large, complex, people-centered organisation.
- Substantial knowledge of policy and regulatory change, stakeholder engagement and data interpretation/management.
- Expert knowledge of Australian energy markets and the AER's role and environment.
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field (or equivalent experience).
You will be asked to respond to a statement of claims (no more than 500 words) and submit your resume with key outcomes or what you are most proud of in each role (2 pages maximum).
Salary and BenefitsSalary: $143,411 - $168,064 (plus 15.4% superannuation). The successful candidate will be appointed as an ongoing EL2 and may attract an additional allowance via an IFA depending on skills and experience; all IFAs are reviewed annually and are not ongoing.
Other DetailsFlexible location: role can be performed at any AER office (Adelaide, Brisbane, Canberra, Melbourne, or Sydney) and is available on a full-time, part-time, or job-share basis.
