About the role

We're seeking a sharp, versatile Corporate Development Associate to join our team and help drive strategic planning and execution across the business. Reporting directly to the VP of Corporate Development, this high-impact role offers exposure to senior leadership, commercial strategy, and technical domains - including quantum computing.

You'll work across strategic, commercial and scientific areas to support decision-making, deliver insights and drive alignment on key initiatives. This is a role for someone who thrives in ambiguity, brings structure and momentum, and enjoys working with stakeholders at all levels, internal and external.

If you have a background in management consulting or corporate strategy, a strong interest in marketing and communications, and a curiosity for complex technologies, this is a unique opportunity to make your mark.

Role responsibilities

• Act as a strategic advisor and right hand to the VP of Corporate Development
• Drive execution of high-priority projects and cross-functional initiatives
• Develop and maintain strategic project plans and company-wide priorities
• Create high-quality communications and presentations for internal and external audiences, including the Board, investors and scientific partners
• Lead and support marketing and communications strategy across key stakeholders
• Support customer relationship initiatives with tailored insights and content
• Coordinate internal meetings, planning sessions and stakeholder engagement
• Contribute to special projects and provide ad hoc executive support

Your experience

• Demonstrable professional experience in management consulting, corporate strategy or a high-growth startup
• Strong strategic thinking and project delivery capability
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with confidence preparing content for senior stakeholders
• High attention to detail and comfort working with data and analytics
• Demonstrated ability to work across diverse functions in a fast-paced environment
• Professional, discreet and collaborative in nature

Whilst not must-haves, it would be nice if you had:

• Background or interest in deep tech, STEM or technical industries
• Experience in B2B marketing, communications or investor relations
• Prior experience in startups, scale-ups or innovation-driven organisations

The recruitment process

For roles at SQC, expect 3-4 interviews, meeting a few members of the team and focusing on your core eligibility for the role, your skills and how they align, and finally your values and how they align. We'll give you a more specific runthrough if you're successful in making it to the first interview.
