Salary range: $146,727 - $156,601 gross per annum

Type: Temporary (3 years)

About the Armidale Catholic Schools Office: The Armidale Catholic Schools Office (ACSO) serves 24 systemic schools; 19 primary, two central (K-10) and three secondary (7-12) across the New England and North West region of NSW. The ACSO supports schools in building a Catholic Professional Learning Community for almost 1,000 employees and 6,000 students.

Position Purpose: The purpose of this role is to assist leaders, teachers, and education assistants in schools to effectively support students with disability and diverse learning needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Promote the Diocese of Armidale Core Catholic Principles and Values in all professional accountabilities.
  2. Consult with teachers and provide advice about relevant teaching and learning strategies.
  3. Advise on individual and group intervention and assist teachers with adjustments.
  4. Collaborate with learning support personnel in response to student needs.
  5. Provide professional development for teachers and paraprofessionals.
  6. Support compliance requirements of the student support program.
  7. Provide case management support and assistance to other agencies.
  8. Work constructively as part of the Mission and Learning Team.
  9. Engage in action research to support organizational directions.
  10. Support schools in analyzing system and school data related to diverse learning needs.
  11. Prepare reports on the progress of students with diverse learning needs.
  12. Attend to any other matters appropriate for the position.

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Recognised formal qualifications in the field of education.
  2. Experience working in schools or with multidisciplinary teams.
  3. Demonstrated effective communication skills.
  4. Highly developed skills in the use of technology and assistive technology options.
