As this is a national role, the position can be based out of Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth or Adelaide.
Responsibilities- Provide operational, technical and business development direction for the Pavements capability to support SMEC's vision and values.
- Ensure capability development and mobilization of the Pavements capability nationally.
- Manage national client relationships.
The incumbent will role model SMEC values, ethics and code of conduct and ensure all business activities are carried out in accordance with these guiding principles.

RoleThe successful candidate will typically have 20+ years' industry experience, recognised as an authority in the transport infrastructure design market and would have undertaken Manager / Lead roles in similar engineering consulting organisations, demonstrating the ability to consistently:
- Manage multi-disciplinary projects successfully, to budget and client specifications
- Build trusting and productive client relationships
- Produce tender/proposal documents of an excellent standard and in a timely manner
- Manage a team effectively for performance and cohesion
- Be recognised as a local authority in the sector

Qualifications- 20+ years' industry experience in transport infrastructure design or related fields
- Experience in Manager/Lead roles within engineering consulting organisations
- Proven ability to manage multi-disciplinary projects to budget and client specifications
- Strong client relationship skills and capability to produce high-quality tender/proposal documents
- Ability to lead and develop teams for performance and cohesion
