About the Role

Gilgandra Shire Council is seeking a Community Services Worker to join the team at Orana Living.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct support to individuals with disabilities, assisting them with daily activities and fostering the development of independent living skills and goals.
  • Contribute to the effective management of the day-to-day operations of a supported residential unit and life skills centre, ensuring alignment with Orana Living's mission, objectives, policies, procedures, and legislative requirements.

Gilgandra is a vibrant rural community in Central West NSW, situated at the junction of three main highways with a strong supportive community and access to services and activities.

Qualifications and Experience
  • Current First Aid Certificate
  • Current Driver's Licence Class C or current Class C Provisional Licence
  • Empathy for working with and for people with a disability
  • Certificate III in Community Services (Disabilities, Aged Care or Home Care) or commitment to obtain within 24 months of appointment
  • Ability to understand and commit to the day-to-day needs of persons with intellectual and physical disability

Details

Location: Gilgandra, New South Wales

Employment type: Casual & permanent positions available

Salary: $34.58 per hour plus applicable penalty rates
