This exciting full-time ongoing hybrid role works as part of the Governance and Executive Support branch at the Administrative Review Tribunal and can be located in Adelaide, Brisbane, Canberra, Darwin, Hobart, Melbourne, Sydney or Perth.
Remuneration:The annual salary range for the position is EL1 - $117,665 p.a. - $138,493 p.a., plus a generous employer superannuation contribution of 15.4%.
About the opportunityThe Assistant Director, Governance works within the Governance section to ensure the Administrative Review Tribunal's (ART) has frameworks, structures, processes and documentation in place to enable the Tribunal to achieve its performance objectives and manage risk consistent with its obligations under the Public Governance and Performance Accountability Act 2013. This involves managing a small national team to support the Tribunal's Audit and Risk Committee, managing the internal audit function and coordinating strategic and operational planning and reporting processes.
The Assistant Director, Governance is also responsible for managing the Tribunal's risk management framework and establishing and coordinating other best-practice governance frameworks.
About youTo be successful you will have:
- Proven ability to operate strategically and with a high level of autonomy to manage projects and deliver results that advance legislative, policy and organisational objectives.
- Highly developed communication skills, including the ability to negotiate effectively and provide strategic advice on complex issues.
- Ability to maintain effective working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, identify and manage sensitivities and collaborate to achieve results
- Proven leadership and management skills, with the ability to coordinate competing priorities, develop team capability and support staff.
- Extensive knowledge of Australian Government risk and governance requirements, or the ability to quickly acquire this knowledge.
- Sound understanding, or the ability to rapidly develop a sound understanding of the ART's operations, structure, and legislative and policy framework.
- The Tribunal requires Australian Citizenship as a condition of engagement.
- All employees are required to undertake an Australian Federal Police Check and a Health Assessment.
- Relevant qualifications, training or Australian Public Service experience in governance.
