Lecturer in Transport Engineering

Join to apply for the Lecturer in Transport Engineering role at UNSW. The opportunity is to join the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering within the Faculty of Engineering at UNSW as a Lecturer in a Teaching and Research role, to cover the work of academics within the school that have secured ARC fellowship appointments.
Responsibilities- In this position, you will undertake high-quality teaching and research in transport engineering, with a focus on emerging technologies in transport engineering such as predictive modelling, real-time traffic analytics, and autonomous vehicle integration.
- Contribute to teaching and learning design, development and delivery at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level.
- Engage with innovative teaching methods and educational technologies to support online and on-campus delivery.
- Support and inspire students from diverse backgrounds and contribute to student equity, diversity and inclusion initiatives.
- Collaborate within a dynamic research environment and contribute to high-quality research with impact, including potential leadership and collaboration across disciplines.
- A PhD in a related discipline, and/or relevant work experience.
- Proven commitment to keeping up to date with discipline knowledge and developments.
- Demonstrated experience in teaching and learning design, development and delivery at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level.
- Experience using and/or designing with educational technologies and online delivery methods.
- Evidence of teaching effectiveness and passion for educational excellence (e.g., curriculum design and development at various levels).
- Knowledge of industry or experience of work-integrated learning (desirable).
- Ability to support and inspire students from diverse backgrounds and support student equity, diversity and inclusion initiatives.
- Demonstrated track record in research with outcomes of high quality and high impact, with capacity for research leadership.
- Significant involvement with the profession and/or industry.
- High level communication skills and ability to network effectively with a diverse range of students and staff.
- Ability to work in a team, collaborate across disciplines and build effective relationships.
- Strong interpersonal and organisational skills.
- Understanding of and commitment to UNSW's aims, objectives and values, with awareness of health and safety responsibilities.
Location: Kensington – Sydney, Australia. Salary: Level B, A$127,947 to A$150,830 per annum + 17% superannuation. Status: Full-time, Fixed-term contract – 4 years.
