Financial Accounts Manager / Bookkeeper

About the Firm

Zylo has teamed up with a leading law firm with a strong presence in Brisbane, the Gold Coast and Sydney. They are renowned for their exceptional legal expertise, client service, and commitment to innovation. We are seeking a highly organised and experienced Financial Accounts Manager / Bookkeeper to join our team in Queensland.

The Role

This is a pivotal role within their firm, responsible for overseeing the financial operations and ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting. The successful candidate will be a key contributor to the firm's financial health and success.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, receivable, and cash flow management.
  • Prepare and reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts.
  • Oversee trust account management and compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare and analyse financial reports, including profit and loss statements and balance sheets.
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
  • Manage payroll and superannuation obligations.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records.
  • Liaise with external auditors and tax advisors.
  • Implement and maintain effective internal controls.
Skills and Experience
  • Proven experience in financial accounting and bookkeeping, preferably within a law firm.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks).
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Qualifications
  • Relevant accounting qualifications preferred (e.g., CPA, CA, or equivalent).
