In a vitally important leadership role, our client is looking for an experienced Payroll Manager to mentor and lead the payroll team. Job Duties
Reporting into the CFO, the role will involve taking leadership of the Payroll team with key tasks involving:
- Developing, mentoring and leading a close knit team of one other payroll officer
- Oversee the fortnightly and monthly payroll processing
- Remaining extremely hands on with the payroll function
- Provide advice and ensure relevant awards and legislation are interpreted and kept up to date
- Develop and strive for process improvement to improve efficiency
- Reconciliation of payroll accounts and reporting as required
- Provide training and mentoring to develop and enhance team performance
- Ensuring compliance with payroll related legislation
- Upholding high customer service standards and protocols across the business
- Partner and develop strong internal and external relationships with key stakeholders
Skills
The successful applicant will have proven leadership experience in a similar Payroll Manager position along with the following skills and attributes:
- Proven desire to lead and manage a team
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- The ability to interpret numerous EBAs
- Effective time management & organisational skills
- Strong stakeholder management skills with a proven ability to positive influence
- Work close to home in Melbourne's South East
- Job security in a permanent role
