Senior Payroll Officer

The Senior Payroll Officer plays a critical role in ensuring the seamless execution of the entire payroll process, managing end-to-end payroll function to guarantee accurate and on-schedule fortnightly payroll cycle. This involves conducting payroll operations efficiently, in compliance with relevant legislation and organizational standards.
Maintaining the integrity and accuracy of employee data is pivotal, ensuring it is up-to-date and managed according to legal requirements and internal policies. The Senior Payroll Officer acts as a key point of contact for resolving payroll-related issues, providing support and solutions while adhering to compliance standards with both internal and external stakeholders.
About you- Extensive knowledge of payroll procedures in a multi-Award environment
- Solid understanding of Employment Hero Payroll software
- Knowledge of current legislation affecting payroll, including awards and industrial relations
- At least three years' experience in a payroll position, with expertise in manual calculations for wages, leave, and terminations
- High level of computer literacy, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with ability to develop positive stakeholder relationships and communicate effectively with diverse individuals at all levels
- Ability to work effectively within a team environment
- Familiarity with culturally sensitive practices for Aboriginal-focused services, including employment of Aboriginal people
- Demonstrated awareness of social, economic, and cultural strengths and challenges affecting Aboriginal communities and their access to quality services
- Understanding of Victorian Child Safe Standards and commitment to contributing to a child-safe organization in practice and culture
- Possession of payroll qualifications
- ID as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander
- Experience working with Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations
