
Partner - Business Support (Financial Crime Compliance)

Partner – Business Support Advisory in Financial Crime Compliance (FCC) at BOQ Group. This role is a key part of BOQ Group's Group Risk function and acts as the primary point of contact for all business-as-usual financial crime compliance matters. You will provide expert advice across the organisation, ensuring obligations under the AML/CTF Act and internal FCC frameworks are understood, managed, and embedded into day-to-day operations. This is a generalist role spanning all areas of the BOQ Group, ideal for someone who thrives in ambiguity, works autonomously, and is passionate about continuous improvement and process optimisation.
Key Responsibilities- Provide independent review, advice, and challenge on BAU matters to ensure compliance with AML/CTF, FATCA/CRS, and internal FCC policies.
- Support Retail, Business Bank, and Treasury teams with Product and Channel Risk Assessments (PCRAs), Enterprise-Wide Risk Assessments (EWRA), and Product Risk Reviews (PRRs).
- Assess issues and incidents for materiality and report significant matters to AUSTRAC.
- Contribute to insightful reporting on FCC risk profiles, incidents, regulatory changes, and emerging risks.
- Build strong, transparent relationships with internal stakeholders across the business.
- Collaborate with other areas of Compliance to support the design and implementation of frameworks, policies, and processes.
- Champion Compliance's Purpose and Ways of Working across the organisation.
- Stay informed on regulatory developments and proactively advise on implications for the business.
- You are a confident and adaptable compliance professional with a strong foundation in financial crime obligations, including AUSTRAC regulation and the AML/CTF Act.
- You bring a deep understanding of banking operations across retail, business, and treasury, and can simplify complex regulatory matters.
- You thrive in ambiguity, are comfortable making independent decisions, and are passionate about continuous improvement and optimising processes.
- You engage and influence stakeholders, deliver high-quality work, and identify areas needing deeper analysis, acting as a trusted advisor in a transforming and fast-paced environment.
