Head of Department Role

We are seeking an innovative and enthusiastic individual to join our leadership team as Head of Department at Fortitude Valley State Secondary College.

About the Role

This is a unique opportunity for a motivated leader with experience in Mathematics, Technologies, or Health and Physical Education. The successful applicant will be collaborative, energetic, and flexible with a passion for leading and encouraging the building of teacher capability in relation to curriculum and pedagogy.

  • Educational Leadership: Develop quality teaching and learning resources and teacher opportunities through your educational leadership.
  • Curriculum Development: Embed socially just practices in daily school life and set high standards for student and staff performance.
  • Teacher Capability: Actively participate in lifelong learning and ongoing professional development to enhance teacher capabilities.
  • Partnerships: Form partnerships with students, parents, other government agencies, and community groups to support student learning outcomes.
