We are seeking applications for a Food Preparer for our Early Learning Centre and After School Hours Care . This person will be responsible for providing healthy fresh, diverse and wholesome menus catering for up to 44 children a day, aged 3-5 years, in a long day care centre. They will also provide afternoon tea for the OSHC program

This is a casual position, working 5 hours a day, Monday to Friday. The position commences in July.

Skills And Experience

Essential Criteria:

  • Qualifications in food safety and food allergy training;
  • Experience in the preparation of meals and budgets;
  • Be able to work unsupervised and in close proximity with others;
  • Excellent time management skills;
  • Have good knowledge of food allergies, family/cultural preferences;
  • Have excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Have a great imagination, creative thinking and can do attitude especially when making healthy food look and taste delicious for young children;
  • First Aid Certificate, including Anaphylaxis and Asthma training (HLTAOD004);
  • NT Working with Children Card or the ability to obtain one;
  • A current driver's license; and,
  • Be residing in Australia. Sponsorship is not offered for this role
