About The Role

Engineers Australia Victoria delivers a range of CPD, Networking, STEM and Community outreach activities based out of our on-site auditorium facilities and various off-site locations across Victoria. The Member Engagement Assistant is primarily responsible for: (1) hosting events held in the auditorium including operation and maintenance of the audio-visual equipment, facilities and assets, and (2) hosting, supporting and representing Engineers Australia at off-site activities including Division led CPD, Advocacy and Celebration events as well as Careers and STEM outreach programs. This is a casual opportunity offering 20 hours per fortnight. This role is onsite.

In This Role You Will
  1. Host and support Member Groups in the Auditorium, managing catering, audio-visual setups, and event logistics.
  2. Ensure the auditorium is tidy, open, and closed appropriately for events.
  3. Operate and maintain AV equipment during events.
  4. Assist with event setup, welcoming attendees, and housekeeping.
  5. Record attendance for CPD and WH&S compliance.
  6. Prepare event catering and maintain a hygienic kitchen.
  7. Manage auditorium inventory and reorder supplies as needed.
  8. Assist with guest registration and liaison at offsite events.
  9. Participate in Career Fairs and STEM events as a representative.
  10. Act as a House Leader at various STEM school events.
  11. Respond efficiently to inquiries from event attendees, directing complex issues to Member Services.
  12. Engage in community activities to promote the engineering profession.
  13. Support Fellow Eng Exec /Recognition event with certificate management.
  14. Administrative support duties as required including updating records in CRM, completing event briefs and follow-ups.
Here's What We're Looking For
  1. You have an understanding of engineering, and the engineering profession preferably gained through relevant study.
  2. You are bright, positive and customer-oriented.
  3. You maintain excellent verbal communication skills and have good written skills.
  4. You are comfortable working and understanding audio-visual equipment.
  5. You do well remaining calm under pressure.
  6. You will do well in this role if you have a willingness to support other team members.
  7. You remain professional and diligent and use your initiative when completing tasks.
  8. You are reliable and respectful of fellow staff and stakeholders.
  9. You have a background in events and hospitality.
