Overview

Senior Speech Pathologist role at South Metropolitan Health Service (SMHS). This is a recruitment pool for Permanent/Fixed-Term Part Time and Casual appointments with the possibility of extensions and/or permanency.

Responsibilities
  • As part of a multidisciplinary team, the Senior Speech Pathologist will work to provide advanced level speech pathology clinical practice in assessment, diagnosis and management of communication and swallowing disorders.
  • Work within both inpatient and outpatient settings for adults across the Rockingham Peel Group catchment sites.
  • Experience and passion delivering instrumental swallowing assessment and evidence-based neurorehabilitation services to complement the staffing skill mix is desirable.
  • Practice in accordance with the Speech Pathology Australia Code of Ethics, the Speech Pathology Australia Scope of Practice and SMHS policies and guidelines.

Organisation

Rockingham Peel Group (RPG) is part of South Metropolitan Health Service and comprises two hospital campuses, Rockingham General Hospital and Murray District Hospital, in addition to community and mental health services across Peel, Rockingham and Kwinana. Rockingham General provides general medical, surgical, oncology and mental health services as well as outpatient care. Murray District Hospital offers medical services, palliative care and allied health inpatient and outpatient services. SMHS delivers quality, safe and effective hospital and health services within a catchment area spanning more than 3300 square kilometres across the southern half of Perth.
