Randstad has partnered with a market leader who delivers integrated logistics solutions across Australia, in their search for a Head of Transport Compliance, a key vacancy for the business for 2025 and beyond.
The RoleYou will oversee the management of the compliance team and be responsible for all aspects of transport compliance across the fleet and operations. In conjunction with the safety team, you'll maintain the company's reputation for safety and reliability, ensuring adherence to national and state transport laws, Chain of Responsibility (CoR) obligations, and internal policies.
A competitive salary and vehicle are provided as part of the remuneration package.
Key Responsibilities- Develop, implement, and monitor transport compliance programs and policies.
- Ensure compliance with NHVR regulations, fatigue management, vehicle maintenance, and driver licensing.
- Interpret and monitor evolving CoR and HVNL legislation, adapting systems to ensure full compliance across sites, carriers, and transport contractors.
- Provide training and support to operational staff on compliance matters.
- Develop and manage internal and external audit schedules (e.g., NHVAS), conducting in-depth audits and producing detailed reports with actionable recommendations.
- Liaise with regulatory bodies and stay up to date with legislative changes.
- Lead internal audits and investigations related to transport incidents or breaches.
- Serve as the primary expert for operations teams, senior leadership, and external stakeholders on all transport compliance matters.
- Promote a strong, proactive safety culture.
- Proven experience gained in transport compliance operations with comprehensive understanding of CoR legislation.
- Clear, professional communication and excellent interpersonal skills.
- A collaborative team player with a mature, proactive approach.
- Familiarity with accreditation frameworks, particularly the National Heavy Vehicle Accreditation Scheme.
- Relevant qualifications in CoR, fatigue management, mass, load restraint, and maintenance.
