About the role
Joining the growing team at our nationally recognised transport company, we are seeking an experienced Transport Manager to oversee our critical logistics operations out of our Brisbane Airport location. This full-time, permanent role will see you playing a key part in ensuring the efficient and effective movement of goods across our national transport network. Working closely with our Operations team, you will be responsible for the end-to-end management of our transport activities, continuously improving processes, and delivering exceptional service to our valued customers.
What you'll be doing
Manage a team of transport coordinators and drivers to ensure the timely and cost-effective dispatch and delivery of freight
Oversee the planning, scheduling and optimisation of transport routes and resources to meet KPIs
Monitor and report on transport metrics to drive continuous improvement
Ensure all transport operations are compliant with relevant regulations and safety standards
Liaise with customers to understand their needs and develop tailored transport solutions
Drive innovation and the adoption of new technologies to enhance productivity and customer service
Collaborate cross-functionally to identify and action opportunities to enhance operations
What we're looking for
Extensive experience in a senior transport or logistics management role, ideally within the freight industry
Excellent knowledge of transport planning, scheduling and operations management
Strong commercial acumen and a customer-centric mindset
Outstanding communication and stakeholder management skills
Proficient in the use of transport management systems and data analysis tools
Tertiary qualification in Logistics, Supply Chain or a related discipline is highly regarded
