Overview

Rehabilitation Consultant - Physiotherapist or Exercise Physiologist — Canberra/Deakin, Australian Capital Territory, Australia.

IPAR is a national occupational rehabilitation provider supporting people who may be living with an illness, disability, or injury. Our care is tailored to each individual and may include workplace rehabilitation, counselling, injury prevention or returning to work. Our team includes Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Exercise Physiologists, Psychologists and Rehabilitation Counsellors and is part of the MedHealth network. We are committed to meaningful outcomes through collaborative, multidisciplinary care.

Responsibilities
  • Case management (caseloads are manageable with Rehabilitation Assistants providing administrative support).
  • Apply clinical knowledge to improve return-to-work outcomes and partner with employers and employees to develop and implement injury prevention and workplace education programs.
  • Collaborate with injured workers, employers, medical and allied health professionals.
  • Complete assessments using clinical and allied health skills, such as Functional Capacity Evaluations, Worksite Assessments, Ergonomic Assessments, and Activities of Daily Living Assessments.
  • Deliver the Re-thinking Recovery virtual reality pain education program in collaboration with a client's current healthcare team.
Qualifications
  • Tertiary qualification in Exercise Physiology or Physiotherapy.
  • Full Professional Accreditation with ESSA or Full Professional Registration with AHPRA.
  • Strong communication and time management skills; ability to engage with clients and stakeholders.
  • Compassion, empathy and a collaborative approach.
  • Current valid Driver's License and access to own car with comprehensive insurance.
