The Department of Justice and Community Safety is seeking two Assistant Managers to play a critical role in the Major Offenders unit.
The Major Offenders Unit monitors individuals identified as high-risk or complex, including those posing a risk of violent extremism.
About the RoleAs an Assistant Manager, you will be responsible for assessing and managing individuals with complex needs, focusing on those accommodated in restricted prison environments and mainstream/protection environments.
Your duties will include:
- Conducting risk assessments to determine appropriate placement for individuals in custody, particularly those who are terrorist/violent extremist persons.
- Reviewing placements of people in Management and High Security Units and contributing to decisions regarding their placement and management.
- Conducting regular reviews of individuals managed by the Major Offenders Unit accommodated in mainstream and protection accommodation.
You will work closely with the team to develop effective strategies for managing these individuals and ensuring public safety.
This role offers flexible work arrangements, including work-from-home days, and requires travel to various Corrections Victoria facilities across the state.
About YouTo be successful in this role, you will need:
- In-depth knowledge of Corrections Victoria policies, procedures, and relevant legislation and regulations.
A tertiary qualification or relevant experience is highly desirable.
