About Our Valuations Group

The Alvarez & Marsal Valuations Group is comprised of former Big Four professionals who provide high-quality valuation services to clients.

We are expanding our Business Valuations and Plant & Equipment valuations teams across Australia and are seeking experienced valuations professionals to join us.

Our team works with clients across various sectors, complementing A&M's Transaction Advisory, Performance Improvement, and Tax practices.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver high-quality valuation work.
  • Apply technical and commercial skills to support valuation requirements.
  • Take responsibility for analysis, research, and report writing.
  • Support business development, including proposals and client responses.
  • Support junior team members' development.
  • Participate in meetings, conference calls, and site inspections.
  • Manage responsibilities proactively and consult internally.
  • Handle multiple projects, including business development activities.
  • Collaborate to develop robust valuation approaches.
  • Assist in report writing and build valuation models with scenario analysis.
  • Analyze financial statements and forecasts, identify key drivers and risks.
  • Prepare industry analysis and benchmarking data.
  • Assist with engagement management tasks like billing and scope changes.
  • Demonstrate a desire for increased responsibility and risk management.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Strong educational background in finance or related field.
  • CA or CFA preferred (for business valuations), or progress towards CPV (for plant & equipment).
  • Big Four experience is advantageous but not essential.
  • Ability to travel within Australia.
  • Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with research tools (e.g., CapitalIQ) required for business valuations.
  • Experience with data analytics software (e.g., Alteryx, Power BI, Tableau) preferred.
  • At least 3 years of professional experience, including 2 years in valuation for Assistant Manager; at least 1 year for Executive.
  • Top performer with strong interpersonal, communication, and critical thinking skills.
  • Self-starter with a commercial mindset.
  • Location: Sydney, Melbourne, or Brisbane preferred.
