Senior Control Systems & Safety Engineer

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Senior Control Systems Engineer to join our dynamic and growing team. This is a fantastic opportunity to take a leading role in delivering innovative automation solutions across complex and rewarding projects. Candidates with safety credentials such as FS Engineer (TÜV Rheinland), TÜV SÜD Functional Safety Engineer, or a Graduate Certificate in Safety, Risk and Reliability Engineering are highly regarded, as safety leadership and compliance with IEC 61508/61511 standards are integral to this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage directly with clients to define project requirements and develop clear scopes of work
  • Lead the design, development, implementation, and commissioning of advanced control system solutions
  • Ensure all project deliverables meet high standards of quality, safety, and timeliness
  • Provide expert-level technical support and maintain strong, long-term client relationships
  • Promote and contribute to a culture focused on health, safety, environment, and quality (HSEQ)

What You Bring:

  • Minimum of five years' experience in control systems engineering within heavy industry or similar high-risk environments
  • Strong client engagement skills with the ability to clearly communicate complex technical concepts to diverse stakeholders
  • Proven experience with control systems, automation platforms, and industrial communication networks
  • Demonstrated understanding of functional and/or machine safety standards (e.g., IEC 61508/61511, IEC 62061, ISO 13849) and their application in engineering design and commissioning
  • Safety certifications such as FS Engineer (TÜV Rheinland), TÜV SÜD Functional Safety Engineer, or equivalent are highly regarded
  • Commitment to embedding safety into all phases of project delivery, including hazard analysis, risk assessment, and SIL verification

Preferred Qualifications and Attributes:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
  • Demonstrated experience in programming and commissioning control systems
  • Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • A proactive, safety-conscious mindset with a commitment to continuous improvement
