Overview

Applications are now open to join our Restructuring team for the 2026 Graduate Program intake.

Companies in financial distress engage KordaMentha to urgently restructure and stabilise their businesses, protecting value and reputations. Our Restructuring group has managed many of the most complex corporate and government restructures in the Asia-Pacific region, including notable projects such as Network Ten, Arrium, FTX, Scott's Refrigerated Logistics, Grocon, and Ansett Australia, and advising on strategic acquisitions. We also support governments to shape future outcomes.

Working alongside our Restructuring specialists, you will learn to look beyond the numbers and take bold steps to protect and recover value. Under expert mentorship, you will gain experience across independent business reviews, cash flow monitoring and forecasting, restructuring, financial and strategic advisory, and formal insolvency appointments. You will contribute to solving our clients' most pressing challenges.

What you'll be doing

As a graduate in our restructuring team, you'll work in project teams to manage Australia's largest and most complex corporate restructures, receiverships, administrations and liquidations. You can expect to:

  • collaborate onsite with a team managing the daily operations of distressed businesses
  • handle creditor inquiries and engage key stakeholders through the insolvency process
  • assist in executing sale transactions for businesses and assets
  • conduct financial analysis and prepare reports for lenders, regulators and businesses
  • develop cash flow forecasts and financial models
  • participate in business development and marketing activities
  • research opportunities by analysing financial and market information and reporting findings to Partners

Qualifications

You will be a recent graduate or student in your final year of study and will have:

  • an accounting or finance degree
  • empathy and integrity
  • strong problem solving and negotiating skills
  • excellent analytical, technical and communication skills
  • an ability to think outside-the-box
  • strong interpersonal qualities
  • focus on delivering excellent client service
  • strong academic results
  • some prior work experience
  • eligibility to live and work in Australia (Australian citizens and permanent residents only)
