Lead operations of Lifeblood's Victorian Transplantation and Immunogenetics Services laboratory. Salary starting from $170k + Superannuation + Salary Packaging.

Responsibilities
  • Lead operations of Lifeblood's Victorian Transplantation and Immunogenetics Services laboratory.
  • Lead the efficient delivery of critical testing and matching services that support transplantation, immunogenetics and HLA compatibility.
  • Contribute to operational planning, drive performance, innovation and successful change initiatives.
  • Shape strategy as part of the TIS leadership team, champion continuous learning, and support research and development initiatives.
  • Keep the laboratory audit-ready and fully accredited; empower staff and deliver excellence in service.
  • Collaborate with scientific, clinical and laboratory teams to ensure high-quality outcomes.
Qualifications and experience
  • Proven leadership in a fast-paced, highly regulated environment, with experience leading large, technical and/or scientific teams.
  • Strong financial management skills—budgeting, cost control and business planning.
  • A people-first approach, with the ability to inspire, motivate and foster continuous improvement and quality outcomes.
  • Hands-on experience in recruitment, training, rostering and performance management.
  • Clear and confident communication skills—able to make complex information simple for any audience.
  • Senior-level experience managing multidisciplinary scientific services.
  • Solid understanding of quality systems, risk management and compliance, including regulators, WHS and environmental standards.
  • Skilled in project and change management, with the confidence to make swift decisions while working as part of a national team.
  • A strong focus on employee wellbeing and adaptability in a constantly evolving environment.
  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field (such as Laboratory Management, Operations, Biomedical Science or Business).
