Laboratory Business Manager

We are seeking a suitably qualified and experienced Business Development Manager to drive the growth of our existing laboratory into Victoria. This will be an exciting opportunity for the right person as you will be instrumental in building this business from the ground up. You must have a high level of enthusiasm and initiative and be passionate about this Industry.
What is the role?
This role will be building on your existing network to establish a solid client base and source the right personnel to work with you to build our presence and capabilities in Victoria.
What skills and experience do you ideally need?
Having a minimum of 5 years' experience within this industry, you will also:
- have extensive knowledge of the Construction Materials Testing Industry
- have knowledge of the Industry/players/pricing (client management)
- have a proven record in business development and sales contacting
- have a knowledge of Vic Main Roads
- show the ability to build and grow a start-up business
- be able to establish and maintain strong networks
- have a Civil Construction background
- have the ability and willingness to manage a small team
- be able to set sales and marketing strategies
- have a strong work ethic
An Engineering or Geotechnical qualification will be looked upon favourably.

FMG Engineering has its own acclaimed, Adelaide-based, NATA accredited laboratory (FMG Research). With industry-leading capability and extensive accreditation (in the fields of soil, aggregate and concrete testing), FMG Research has been delivering testing services to the building, construction and earth moving industries, as well as quarries and premix concrete suppliers, for over 50 years.
Our mobile or annex laboratory services operate in many of Australia's remote locations to provide timely and dependable results and clear advice, obtained through detailed understanding of each project.
We are now looking at expanding our soils testing laboratory into Melbourne.
