Band 3 - Salary Range $69,868.53 to $73,701.99 per annum Pro Rata + 12% Super. Salary offered will depend on level of skills and experience. 2 x Casual Positions. Band 3 - Hourly Rate $44.19 + 12% Super.

Locations: Melton City Council, Victoria, Australia.

The Opportunity

We are seeking Community Care Workers to join our supportive Client Connections team within the Community Care & Active Living department. As a Community Care Worker, you will deliver high-quality, person-centred support under the Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP) and the Home and Community Care Program for Younger People (HACC-PYP).

  • Promoting independence and reablement - supporting clients to maintain and build daily living skills, rather than creating ongoing reliance.
  • Enhancing health, wellbeing, and social connections - enabling participation in community life and reducing social isolation.
  • Providing flexible, person-centred care - aligning services with each client's goals, preferences, and cultural needs.
  • Supporting carers and families - ensuring sustainable care arrangements through respite and tailored assistance.

We offer both permanent part-time and casual opportunities, with shifts available Monday to Saturday between 7:00am and 7:00pm. Applicants must be available a minimum of four weekdays, starting as early as 7am.

Key Responsibilities
  • Domestic Assistance (major component of role): Support clients with household tasks such as cleaning, laundry, mopping, vacuuming, shopping, and light meal preparation, ensuring a safe and comfortable living environment.
  • Personal Care: Assist with showering, bathing, dressing, grooming, medication prompting, and general hygiene needs, delivered with dignity and respect.
  • Individual Social Support: Provide companionship, assist with shopping, transport to essential appointments, and help clients remain connected to their community.
  • Respite Care: Provide in-home or community-based respite for carers while ensuring clients remain safe and engaged.
  • Wellbeing Monitoring: Observe and report changes in clients' health and wellbeing to support independence and safety.
  • Team Contribution: Collaborate with colleagues, attend staff meetings, and participate in training and development.
  • Administration: Maintain accurate and timely records to ensure quality service delivery and compliance.

About you
  • A genuine commitment to person-centred care and supporting older people and younger people with disabilities.
  • Physically fit and able to perform everyday tasks such as vacuuming, lifting, and practical household support.
  • Knowledge of CHSP and HACC-PYP principles, including independence, wellbeing, social inclusion, and carer support.
  • Current valid Victorian Drivers licence and access to a safe and appropriately registered and comprehensively insured vehicle suitable for transporting clients.
  • Must hold or be able to obtain an Employee Working with Children Check.
  • Available to work between Monday and Saturday 7am and 7pm, weekends, public holidays and irregular hours as service requires.
