**Disability Support Worker - Community Access Support (Casual)**

Support a young man who loves the beach, surfing, and outdoor adventures

**About the Role**:
We are looking for a calm and proactive Disability Support Worker to support a friendly young man who enjoys outdoor adventures and is living with epilepsy. This role is centred around community access - including regular trips to the beach, walks, and outdoor recreational activities - while ensuring safety, support, and encouragement at every step.

**Who You Are**:
Outdoor Enthusiast - You enjoy being outdoors, especially at the beach or around water, and are comfortable supporting someone in recreational settings like surfing or walking along coastal areas.

Supportive & Patient - You take the time to build rapport, understand the participant’s communication and behaviour style, and support them with empathy and patience.

Reliable & Consistent - You show up when you say you will, can be depended on for safety monitoring, and communicate openly with families and coordinators.

Flexible & Adaptable - You’re able to adjust your approach depending on the participant’s mood, energy, or health on the day.

Safety-Conscious - You’re mindful of the participant’s epilepsy and take care in ensuring the environment and activities are managed with risk in mind.

**Desirable but Not Essential**:
Knowledge or previous experience supporting someone with epilepsy

Ability to assist with documenting activities or reporting health concerns

**Essential Requirements**:
✔ Valid Driver’s License & Reliable Vehicle

✔ NDIS Worker Screening Check

✔ Working with Children’s Check

✔ National Police Check

✔ First Aid & CPR Certificate (must be confident in emergency response)

✔ COVID-19 Vaccination Certificate

**Location & Hours**:
Support provided in **Melton,** **Inner Melbourne suburbs** and **surrounding areas**

**Tuesday and/or Thursday** availability preferred

Casual flexible hours

Pay: $33.00 - $38.00 per hour

Expected hours: 3 - 8 per week

**Experience**:

- Disability, Community Support, or Youth Work: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- Drivers Licence (required)
- NDIS Worker Orientation Module (required)
- Working with Children Check (required)
- National Police Check (required)
- First Aid & CPR Certificate (required)

Work Authorisation:

- Australia (required)

**Location**:

- Melton VIC 3337 (preferred)

Willingness to travel:

- 25% (preferred)
